JFS OnLine
Hi,
I have a problem...i need some informations about the use of JFS OnLine (version 4). My machine is a Stratus Continuum/HP-UX 11.00, we are mounting the file systems with a version 4 JFS and with delaylog option. I discovered which this fs is slower than another mounted with log option.
My machine have to be fast, but im afraid of the consequences. Please, if you can help me...
thank you
simone

Re: JFS OnLine
Hi:
You might start by taking a look at the 'vxtunefs' command: See vxtunefs(1M) and tunefstab(4).
Also, take a look at:

Re: JFS OnLine
I am not sure which instructions you were using but there is a great doc on the ITRC KBRC00002562 It shows good directions.
You have to install the product and then reinstall some patches that the product overwrites during installation. The product was written before some patches were available. After installing the product and then the patches and then everything should work well.

Re: JFS OnLine
Hi,
Typically filesystems mounted with delaylog perform slightly better than those mounted with log. If a crash occurs, filesystems with delaylog will usually come up just fine but if you are paranoid, log is the way to go. See the mount_vxfs(1m) man page for brief descriptions of these options and the other mentioned references for more information.
