Re: Job responsibilities for Oracle 10g RAC DBA on HP-UX ServiceGuard
Well it depends, except during the installation, (when the DBA need to have root privileges to execute several scripts as root user) most of the files are located in the ORACLE_HOME directory where the oracle user has access. Also if DB control is configured the DBA would need console access in very rare cases.

Re: Job responsibilities for Oracle 10g RAC DBA on HP-UX ServiceGuard
well, it depends upon the RAC design.
If there is an OS cluster, then what method is used for failover. How the RAC failover will occur.
and also data files management and must about backup.

Re: Job responsibilities for Oracle 10g RAC DBA on HP-UX ServiceGuard
it is all depands on how large is your organization. I know some of the company
they separate DBA and system group.
so Oracle RAC taken care of DB team and system group supported System level included Serviceguard
