K server clone fail to start X25 card

Dears,

I cloned the new K360 with make_recovery tape from old K360.

The OS is a bit old 10.20

The problem is that the X25 card is still "unknown" and when booting "FAIL" even if /etc/x25 directory have been also cloned.

Any explanation please ?

SEP: I am coming to your conclusion which I did not understand yet. May be you can explain bite more.

Hi, I'm senile tonight and having a horrible time posting. I don't recall replying to this however I will give my thoughts and perhaps they will be at least consistent.

1) The old K360 probably didn't have an X25 card. Therefore its not in the kernel. As A. Clay told you , the best bet is to try and put that kernel module back in. You can use sam and it will require a system boot.

2) The card itself may be bad or in the wrong slot. After insuring the driver is in the kernel run cstm, mstm or xstm and see if you can find the device.

3) Just for grins, rmsf the device file and run ioscan over again. The device file is in /dev

4) If possible, try a different X25 card.

5) Check http://docs.hp.com and make sure the card is compatible with the slot its it. Fitting does not cut it with a K360, it must be in a supported location to work.

I vaguely recall posting to a question like this and am pretty sure I have not covered my previous post. It's late, I'm sleepy and I am having a very hard time posting at all to ITRC.

What do you mean by putting the kernel in ?How to do to put the kernel in ?

The other points are OK:

2) The card is OK (was used on another server) and on the right slot (point 5)
3) Just for grins, rmsf the device file: No effect
4) Same problem with different X25 card.
5) the card is inserted on same slot as old K360 and according to HP Doc.
