K380 boot problems with 10.20
I have 11.11 loaded on a K380 but I need 10.20 for a specific application. When I install 10.20 from a CD it will load fine but once it transfers over to the HD it locks up after testing memory? If I install from Ignite it installs fine but then on bootup I get the error "I/O probe timed out at hardware path 8/0.0"? If I take out the SCSI cards the error just moves to the next address. Any ideas???

Re: K380 boot problems with 10.20
1. are you loading from K380-made ignite tape?
2. try build up minimal configuration. Remove all addon cards and look if it will work. Terminate all unused SCSI connectors with HVD terminators;
3. Which code it displays (on the LCD) when it locks up?
4. make sure you're installing from core OS CD for 800 family (for servers)

Re: K380 boot problems with 10.20
I'd check the Core O/S CD being used; it should be for s800 (servers).
For the K380 the 10.20 Core O/S Cd should be from Feb 98 or later. This install contains HWE patches that are needed. This could be a reason for the system hang at boot, etc.
Eugeny has some good ideas too!
Hope this helps,
-Denver
