K580 11.11 install problem
The previous 10.20 installation was wiped totally from the disk so the option to recover a failed system does me no good.
Any Thoughts?

Re: K580 11.11 install problem
Try running the installation for 11.0 and then you can quickly upgrade to 11.11 once that is complete.
Also, in the recovery options, it may specify that do you want a fresh install. See if you get that option in that.
Regards,
Anil

Re: K580 11.11 install problem
Just a thought, is the secure boot mode enabled ?

Re: K580 11.11 install problem
During the boot process, the system downloads the FDDI drivers and then pauses for a second while it installs the keyboard drivers. Based on the console log (from our remote console connectivity datakit connection) there seem to be a menu that pops up that I can not see and after a timeout period, it defaults to an option.
I will try to use HP TERM for my my workstation when I get into the office or force the remote console to show me the menue by packing [tab]s into the buffer to make it wait for my choice.
I will keep you posted.

Re: K580 11.11 install problem
The only question that I will have to check out is why my regular Xterm sessions (telnet into our remote cosole system) from my pseries workstation did the same thing. Must need HP Term, Wyse or something similar.
Thanks -

Re: K580 11.11 install problem
I have seen this problem again and the terminal emulation was not the only problem.
I have found that often an 11.11 install from the media will jump you directly into the Recovery Network configuration screen. If you just put the information in and when the system ask you to confirm, tell it that it is not correct and cancel the operation.
When you cancel, it will put you back at the main menu that you were expecting in the first place.
It is only a few key strokes, so don't panic if you don't see the familiar main menu when you boot from CD.
Good Luck
