KB locked

The console of my Hp10.20 is locked.
In my telnet session I did
who -a and killed the console session.

This gave me the login for root (on console) but the key board is still locked.
Please suggest what I should do? This is a production box.

Thanks in advance!

Re: KB locked

Shalom,

Normally a valid serial/web console resets a locked root.

Thats not what happened here.

who -a does not cause this.

So you may need to power the box down and up to fix this.

Re: KB locked

Have your tried power cycling the console (monitor)? I've had this happen several times on ours. (It's connected to a console switch so can be a bit flaky at times.) It's been a while since I messed with it though. I might have had to remove the power plug to get this to clear too. Either is better than reboot the entire system if it'll work for you. :)

Re: KB locked

Hi,

Power off the console, hold down the 'D' key for ten seconds while powering the console back on. Release the 'D' key. Hit RETURN to return to defaults. The console should now be freed.
