SolutionThe 'kcweb' kernel management tool appears in HP-UX 11i version 2, or release 11.23.
You can access it from SAM, a web browser or the Service Control Manager (SCM).
You can read more in the "Configuring a System" chapter of the Managing Systems and Workgroups" guide.

Re: kcweb
As James mentioned it is a tool available only HPUx11iv2 onwards. You can use it for convenient kernrl reconfiguration. It can also be started straight away from if your DISPLAY variable is set by
#kcweb

Re: kcweb
configure DISPLAY variable to your machine.
# export DISPLAY="Client IP":0.0
# sam
Client:
start x client session.
IT will open up a GUI sam as like TERMINAL based on command line.

Re: kcweb
"kcweb" is web based Kernel tuning management tool. It is only available for 11.23. There was a depot for 11.11, it is discontinued right now.
It uses apache webserver to run.
Just export your display variable and do as,
# export DISPLAY=
# kcweb

Re: kcweb
as others told,
kcweb is availabel only 11iv2 and above.
#export DISPLAY=hostname:0.0
#kcweb
will start GUI based kernel configuration tool called "kcweb"
in 11iv2, u can find lot of changes with kernel tunning.
kcweb, commands [kctune, etc ], lot of dynamic tunables, alarams, etc...
but kernel tunning with sam TUI is nice. i love that. [ with tab key, space key, enter key and ur kernel is ready. its really fun.]
in HP virutual labs, u can find a lab for kcweb.
Keep learing,
SEKAR

Re: kcweb
PLEASE stop resurrecting old threads! The author appears to be satisfied by the answers received originally and you are needlessly cluttering this Forum.

Re: kcweb
u may be right.
but what i do is(here in HPUX and OV applications forums), whom will ask nice and simple questions(i like comparion questions..see in my profile a thread "Perl programming and shell scritping"), i will try to post my views there. it may give some new views, ideas to somebody. i am not posting just for points. even though in closed threads, i will try to post..
Have a look at,
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1034918
i like comparision questions, kernel tunning questions, hpux commands questions, etc.
thats what i did.
anyhow, i will avoid this, as u told.
Keep Learning,
