kernel fails to build in hp-ux 11.0

Hi,

After increasing some kernel parameters in hp unix 11.0 to enable the oracle DBA to perform his oracle installation and configuration, the kernel build process failed with an error message.

I can't really help You on the kernel issue itself, but maybe the check_patches You sought was /usr/contrib/bin/show_patches?

also look if You find some info in /sam.log

Hi,

Please check that you have sufficient space in /stand file system .

If you are trying to change multimple parameters at a time ,try to reduce the total number of parameters you are changing
and then try to rebuld the kernel.

do you have the latest and greatest SAM cumulative oatches ?

swlist -l product | grep -i cumulative | grep -i sam

you should have something like PHCO_31312. If not, download and install it at once. It will not require a reboot so it can be done on the fly.

Also, could you please list the contents of your /stand and /stand/build directories here ?
