kernel parameter for oracle 9i

We are upgrading oracle database to 9i. In this box we have two instances of oracle running. Both will be upgraded to 9i

Oracle is giving a list of unix kernel parameters for 9i upgrade. The list is for one instance. As we are running two instances do I double these values? Some of them already max numbers. Does anyone out there give me insight on this. I am including the list for your review.

Our environment is L2000 running 11.0. It has 5GB physical memory.

Thanks a million for your help.

Re: kernel parameter for oracle 9i

hi,

because of two instances u need not set double the values. keep the values as specified. observe the performance, it is poor then u may require to change shmmax value.
