There is no kernel parameter for printing. Are you asking how to setup a printer? Or how to start the print spooler? To check the status of the print spooler, use this:

lpstat -r

To start the spooler, do this:

lpsched

could you elaborate ?


to print, assuming lpsched is running and printer called My_Printer is configured.

lp -dMy_Printer -o options My_File
