Hi,
I created a bundle on tape containing the following patches for a customer.
PHCO_25418
PHCO_21187
PHCO_23651
PHKL_18543
PHKL_20016
PHKL_22589
PHKL_22677
PHKL_27980
PHKL_28766
I tested the tape on my local system while enabling the options of overwriting same revision.
After 94 % of the installation was complete, the swinstall was suspended with the following error message
Generating module: krm...
Compiling conf.c...
Loading the kernel...
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Unsatisfied symbols:
prf_klog_getstring (first referenced in /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(klog.o)) (code)
pread (first referenced in /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(init_sent.o)) (code)
set_timedout (first referenced in /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(safety_time.o)) (code)
prf_klog_getcount (first referenced in /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(klog.o)) (code)
lock_claim (first referenced in /usr/conf/lib/liblvm.a(lv_hp.o)) (code)
lock_disown (first referenced in /usr/conf/lib/liblvm.a(lv_hp.o)) (code)
pwrite (first referenced in /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(init_sent.o)) (code)
*** Error exit code 1
Stop.
config: make did an exit(1)
Wanted to know the analysis of this issue. I think i'll be able to restore my previous kernel.
Regards,
-Alvi

Solution
You reinstalled PHKL_18543. That is a BAD BAD thing to do and causes all kinds of problems. Take a look at the following knowledge base document, TKB DocId: KBRC00001601
