This is one of those that if you have to ask then you can't (or at least you shouldn't). Bear in mind that it is possible to tune a kernel and make an unbootable kernel --- in which case you need to make sure that you have a backup kernel and how to boot it. Your question is so vague that I can't tell if you want to know the steps to tune a kernel or identify the values that should be changed.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
