I would like to know about the Default Path's for both the Keyboard and Mouse where they are in the File system of the HP-UX. It's like /dev/kbd for keyboard and /dev/mouse for the mouse in the SunOS. Help me out in this regard..
Thanks in advance,

Re: Keyboard and mouse default path's and names on HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800
run command:
ioscan -fn
and look at the output.
The keyboard and mouse special files should be:
/dev/hid/firstkbd
/dev/hid/firstmouse

Zygmunt

Re: Keyboard and mouse default path's and names on HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800
connecting the keyboard and mouse to integrated USB ports
in rp3440 server makes no sense, because we have no available
monitor port.
If you have A6150B PCI 2D Graphics and 2 port USB Adapter Bundle,
you can connect keyboard, mouse and monitor to these ports.
Make sure, that you have the hid driver in the kernel.
If you don't have A6150B bundle, you must use serial console (or pc
connected via serial cable), at least for the first time to configure
IP address on the MP. If you have already configured IP address on the MP,
you can simply telnet to the MP.
To configure IP address on the MP connect the included black adapter cable DB25-3xDB9 to the MB,
and serial cable to the DB9 port labeled "console" and to pc.

Solution"If you ordered the A6150B graphics card kit for installation into a hp 9000 rp3410 or rp3440 server, you need only install the graphics card to activate graphics capability. Do not install the USB card, it is not supported. USB capability is already incorporated into your hp 9000 rp3410 and rp3440 server and the USB ports are located on the rear panel".
So, if you have A6150B kit, install graphics card, and connect a keyboard and mouse to the USB ports pictured as keyboard and mouse.

Zygmunt
