Keyboard problem in HP-UX 11i

Just ask if someone experimente that: I have some of my server running HP-UX 11.00 and some other HP-UX 11i. All my server run OpenSSH and telnet, rlogin, etc.. are disabled. So on my PC I use Putty to connect (with SSH2) on all my server.

On HP-UX 11.00 arrow key works fine in vi but not on HP-UX 11i (I tested both OS in a fresh vanilla installation and same thing).

Thanks

On 11.00:

untic > /tmp/88

ftp to 11i

tic /tmp/88
unsupported

Re: Keyboard problem in HP-UX 11i

Nope... that doesn't change anything. I already compare the output of what is return by untic and it's the same on both OS...

Thanks for the try Carlos.. it's appreciate :-)

Hi,

Is the TERM set correctly? It can do havoc if it not set according to your specifications.

Re: Keyboard problem in HP-UX 11i

Yup. Both are set as xterm. But like I said, I reinstall the both OS on two machine and without changing anything the arrow key doesn't work on 11i. Even an upgrade from 11.00 to 11i do that. That really strange...

Re: Keyboard problem in HP-UX 11i

What happens if you use CDE from your 11i box? Do you get the same result. Also, you could try a different SSH Terminal Emulator like Tera Term or the OpenSSH product for windows that can turn your PC into a server or client. I have found Putty to be a little awkward, but that is just me.

Good Luck,
