Re: L 2000 HPUX 11.00

SCSI resets could be due to many things like.
1 Not upto date on SCSI patches.
2 Loose, improper connections, improper SCSI terminations.

Did you check connections on tape drive? Try doing insf -ev and then ioscan -fnCtape.

Post results.

Re: L 2000 HPUX 11.00

In Tape Array 5300 I have only one device it is DAT. When I change the position or pull it out a then the DAT is OK for 1 or 2 months.

Re: L 2000 HPUX 11.00

NO_HW in ioscan means that the device is not communicating with the system. This could be the result of improper termination or other hardware issue.

You need to have the tape drive checked out by Hardware Support.

Re: L 2000 HPUX 11.00

Could be bad cables,
Could be a bad card,
Could be termination,
Could be the device is bad.

I call hardware when this happens, thats what they are there for.

Re: L 2000 HPUX 11.00

I Think the problem you have is simply bad contact between the tape and the box (5300) is common to have suach problems, because the lock doesn't do his function properly, the reason why the tape has stop to work is probably because the lock has unlock itself.
My advice is to remove the front cover on the 5300 and press firmly to ensure a good contact between dds and box.
