L3000 HP Server and 4Gb Fibre Cards

Hi There Everyone,

I've got an L3000/8x server connected to our SAN via 2 Tachyon XL2 Fibre cards (Running at 2Gb/s). Our SAN team have requested that I look into the possibility of upgrading these Fibre cards to 4Gb/s. Does anyone have any idea if this request is feasible? I've had a look on partsurfer... but can't find any reference to 4Gb cards for an L3000 server.

Many Thanks

Re: L3000 HP Server and 4Gb Fibre Cards

Hi Pete,

At present, it does not appear that 4Gb/s HBAs are supported on this server. As support for the rp5470 (formerly L3000) has an end-of-life of Jan. 31, 2010, it's conceivable that such hardware will be added in the future.

Here's a current HBA compatibility matrix:

Hi,

There is no 4 GB Fibre Channel card supported for L Class, check the link for support matrix.
