lan cabling

I have a question the lan card installed on my system is "HP A5506B PCI 10/100Base-TX 4 Port"
can I use the copper 1000MB/FD cabling with this card. will it work?

Re: lan cabling

You mean can you use a cat6 GbE cable in a 100BT port? Yes you can, but of course you'll only get 100BaseT speed. The physical media is backwards compatible.

If its terminating into a GbE port on a switch you might need to hard set the speed to 100FD on both the host and the switch.
