lan card 100VG

what does it mean a lan card 100VG and is it compatible with 100BT lan?
I have a D360 server with hpux 11.0 and it does not detect this card?
Is this kind of cards supported by MC service guard?

Re: lan card 100VG

The 100VGAnyLan card is a card that uses an HP specific topology.
You need to install the drivers for this card as it is not part of the Core OS
ServiceGuard does support the use of this card, but you need to have another 100VG card to be able to have a standby for it.
As of 11i of HP-UX, there are no drivers, so you will not be able to use it at that release of HP-UX

Re: lan card 100VG

Thanks guys but is it compatible with 100BT lan. I have a cluster of two nodes an L1000 ( with 10/100BT lan card) and the D360 with a 100VG lan card . can this config work?

Re: lan card 100VG

The answer is no, you cannot put 100BT and 100VG in the same "loop", as they are not the same topolgy.
