We have several lan card configurations files we have to modify on our N, L, and RP7400 servers.
driver /etc/rc.config.d/
btlan0 hpeisabtconf
btlan hpbtlanconf
btlan1 hpbasetconf
btlan3 hpbase100conf
btlan4 hpgsc100conf
btlan5 hppci100conf
btlan6 hpsppci100conf
What is the best way or solution to modify these lan card files at the same time when it comes to upgrades as well as changing from 100HD to FD?
We have not encountered this before, so anyone have any idea or avenue we should take?
Please advise?
Vito

Re: Lan Card Config file
OK, what do you have to modify in these files? Why not use lanadmin? Patches are NOT going to wipe out these files.

Solution
Hi,
The file lists are OK... But if you want change the speed you can use lanadmin
For example
lanadmin -x ppid # or nmid #
This will display the current speed
You can issue lanadmin -X 100FD ppid # or nmid #
To get nmid or ppid number use lanscan and netstat -in.
You can also use sam to chane the lan card speed.
Goodluck,
