lan ids

I have been testing some apps within a service guard configuration. My OSI lan (lan0) is set as snap0. The cmclconfig.ascii file was referencing 'lan0' not 'snap0'. No problems.

I have just removed all my apps and the SG config and I am now rebuilding.

cmclconfig.ascii now fails the cmcheckconf with lan0 set. If I set the ref to snap0 cmcheckconf is ok.

cmquerycl also fails to pick out the snap0 lan.
cmscancl returns snap0 for the ioscan -i check??

any explanations on why this might happen.
Thanks

Re: lan ids

Hi,

what version of MC/SG is installed? Do you have installed the latest MC/SG patch?

To change the name for lan0 is absolutly not recommended!!! Why you changed the device name?

I would recommed to rename the laninterface back to lan0.

Re: lan ids

Iam using SG A.11.09.

The snap0 name is the PPA name that is set when
ethernet 802.3 is set as opposed to just ethernet.

I have not intentionaly changed the network
interface name.

I have tried deleting and recreating the lan card. No change tho.
