Re: Lan interface not up in HP rp2470

my 2 cent.

Do check the card?.Is the light is blinking?.If yes,then something wrong with your hardware.

Or you can do a reset using landiag.

# issue landiag.
# choose lan
# before you reset make sure that the ppa are correct if not change it.
you can check ppa using lanscan.
# next key in reset.

good luck

Re: Lan interface not up in HP rp2470

hi,

what are the related error messages in /etc/rc.log and in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log.

does your lan card gets recogonized with ioscan. see / check the status with landamin.

also try manully configuring the card with ifconfig.

see if there are any errors in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf. also are you setting the card to auto-negotiate or fixing the speed. that could be a problem as well.

Re: Lan interface not up in HP rp2470

Hi Senthil,
Make sure that you have hooked up the lan cable in the correct port.
It should be the lowest port .
the above one is for console port.and green light should blink.
You can try this command
netfmt -f /var/adm/nettl.LOG000 > /tmp/log.out

see /tmp/log.out for any errors.

Thanks
Animesh

Yes there is a connection problem.
Green light should glow constantly/blinking.

Re: Lan interface not up in HP rp2470

Your IP/netmask combination creates problem.
Disable the subnet checking using

#ndd -set /dev/ip ip_check_subnet_addr 0

This should resolve.

to make permanent entries make entries in

/etc/rc.config.d/nddconf

TRANSPORT_NAME[0]=ip
NDD_NAME[0]=ip_check_subnet_addr
NDD_VALUE[0]=0

Re: Lan interface not up in HP rp2470

That will fix the problem. I just ran into this on a customers site last night and had to make that change and rebooted the system and everything came up fine.

That should work for you!
