lan0 down
I saw lan0 whit a "down" status on both host-A and host-B when I checked the MC, I re-connect the cable which connecte the lan0 between host-A and B ,but the problem still the same. I tried to ping lan0 each other ,it's ok with reply messages , telnet lan0 also is OK ,too .

Re: lan0 down
Hello
How many cards do you have on the server ?
If you issue ifconfig lan 0 what do you get ?
When you telnet or ping the card are you sure you are going through that interface ? ie do you have other cards with addresses that are up and available ?
can you linkloop the card ?
Issue
netfmt -t 30 /var/adm/nettl.LOG00 > /tmp/netfmt.out
Look at the output file, do you have any recent entries ?
HTH

Re: lan0 down
After disconnecting the cables you may need to restart the network or the entire machine.
If telnet is working between the boxes then I can only say a few things.
Then lan0 isn't really down.
Or the telnet didn't go through lan0.
It would be helpful if you told us the machine types we're dealing with, what the OS level is, ex 10.20 11.00 11iv1.
Its kind of tough to figure out things with sketchy information.
try an ioscan or an ioscan -fnC btlan
Lets see if there really is some dead hardware.
There is also the old look at the NIC test. Are there lights on the things?
More info=faster resolution.

Re: lan0 down
Do a lanadmin and check for Hardware and operational status of the NIC and if required do a reset on the same.
Hope above helps
