Latest version of BIND for HP-UX 11.00

What is the latest pre-compiled version of BIND available from HP. I only see 8.1.2. Our company has a standard of a min. version of 8.3.9, and I see that BIND 9.2.0 is available only for HP-UX 11.11.

Do I need to download the source and compile it myself, or is it available as a SD install package from HP for versions greater than 8.3.4

For 11.00 you would have to download the source and compile it yourself if you want anything greater than 8.1.2 (ver 3). There isn't any pre-compiled version that you can download from HP.

Strange thing is, HP has the 9.* train just for 11i. The bind website specifically says that 11.11 isn't supported:

8.1.2 is available from software.hp.com

I am looking for BIND version 9.2 for HP-UX 11.00. Until it's ready I'll use Version 4.9.

It would be best to download the sources and compile them yourself. At the moment I'm aware of no plans in HP (not that they couldn't exist) to compile the BIND 9 stuff for 11.0 and put it out for download. 11.0 FCS'd back in November of 1997...

The sources from isc.org should compile just fine out of the box - at least that is what I do on my systems when i want to do perf testing. I use the HP compiler, but I think there are targets now that will use the gcc compiler.
