We have a D320 server which doesn't reboot.
The last line on screen console says :
"Volume group "/dev/vb02" has been successfully changed".
The message on LCD screen is : "RUN F11F REMOTE"
Someone can help me ?
Thanks,

Re: LCD screen D320 : "RUN F11F REMOTE"
wait for at least 20 minutes, it might be doing some lvm recovery. It occurs immediatly after the activation.
Why did you reboot the server, for a panic , for maintenance, for what ?
The messagge looks normal, so i wouild wait.

Re: LCD screen D320 : "RUN F11F REMOTE"
You have had a hardware problem of some kind. If you've attached new SCSI or unapproved/unsupported SCSI devices, reverse the procedure and try again.
Check all terminators and SCSI connections.
Shut down the box and open it and conduct a physical inspection. If the box is burned out completely lots of people might want parts.
I have a D320 in the basement for instance.
If you have a hardware contract, invoke it NOW.

Re: LCD screen D320 : "RUN F11F REMOTE"
you could try to reset the console to default configs...
700/96 console, power off console, hold down "D" key for about 10sec when you power it on. release the "D" key... you should see "default configs used, press return to clear".... press return, do you see the login prompt now and is "REMOTE" off of the LCD now?
hope this helps,

SolutionThe "F"s indicate that we are running "normally" .
The 1st "1" indicates that there is one process running on the system at the time.
As listed above, its PROBABLY a vgchange or vgsync. It could be syncing the mirrors OR it could be a bad disk in that or the next volume group which is causing a hang.
The 2nd "1" indicates the number of CPUs on the box.
---------
How to troubleshoot.
1) Look at disk lights. Check the lights on the disks while the system is hung. You should find one that is REALLY busy. THis is the disk beign worked on whether its bad or not.
2) Boot instead of normally into single user mode. Interrupt the boot process, boot pri isl, say "yes" to interact with ISL. Type: hpux -is.
cd /dev
the do :
mv vgwhicheveroneishanging save.vgwhateveroneishanging
Then you can reboot and come up with all the other vgs (assuming this would be a helpful state for your computer to be in).
Thne you can move the directory back to its original name (after the reboot) and do some more troubleshooting.
3) Given that it might be a bad disk, you can :
shut the system down
power down the system
power down all the disks
power up all the disks
power up the system
The effect of this is that if you have a mostly dead disk that you cant use but still wants to talk to the system, the above may kill it completely. Thus, you will be able to boot the box.
Just some ideas,

Re: LCD screen D320 : "RUN F11F REMOTE"
Or the w, uptime or top commands would show a level between 1.0 & 1.99.

Re: LCD screen D320 : "RUN F11F REMOTE"
as I remember, if it problem in Console, as say respected Denver Osborn, your need press F4 key for continuation of boot process.
Some time ago I was in the same situation with D280 (the devil's charwoman) :-))
