Legato Networker returns "Connection refused"
HI!
On occasion, the backup comes back with "connection refused" message on a various number of mounts and of course a failed backup.
This occurance is random and the mounts affected are also random.
There was nothing in the logs on the client to indicate a problem.
I don't know where to look anymore.
Please help!
Thanks in advance!
Josee

Re: Legato Networker returns "Connection refused"
Hi
Have experienced similar behavior on Networker Clients here at our site.
When running 5.5.1 version of the client some of these errore (that occured on random) caused the backup to hang until manually stopped, and restarted.
Now when upgraded to version 6.0.1 these errors are resolved by the Networker software itself, but it still ends up with an incomplete backup for the one night that it failed.
I haven't found any solution on this, and so haven't Legato support!
My errors are infact not "connection refused" errors, and what could be checked are:
- name resolution; is the client able to find the "nsrhost"
- is there enough lisenses available on the server; this would give an error in the nsrdaemon.log file on the server.
- kind of a long shot but anyway: number of datastreams?; I'm not so sure about this case but I know that the client can be set up to allow a certaion number of data streams, as can the tapedrives; might there be a mismach here?

Re: Legato Networker returns "Connection refused"
Hi,
i do experience the same problem if two networker sessions kind of collide. E.g. if one session waits fo a new tape and the next session starts.
Have you checked for this? Make sure you don't have two sessions running at the same time.
Hope this helps
Regards Stefan
