I want to know how move tape in a library by command line.

Depends what type of library you are using. The command line interface to most HP (hp-blue not compaq branded hp that is) libraries that I have used was called via command

uma

do a "man uma" to see the options available to you

mc can also be used if you don't have omniback .

do man mc for more information .

mc. man mc
uma -omniback

mc /dev/rac/cxtxdx -s S1 -d S2

Will move tape from slot 1 to slot2

uma and mc will both work and both have their limitations. Don't forget that if you choose to use these in conjunction with say omniback, any movement, does not upodate the omniback database. I would assume that this would be the case with other commercial backup applications.
Anyone for a Mutiny ?
