License for HP/UX 11
I recently purchased a used Visualize C200 for my own personal use. It came pre-installed with HP/UX 10.20 and I also received the 10.20 media.
I'd like to upgrade this system to 11.00 if possible, but I seem to be having some trouble finding any information anywhere on how to go about doing this. It doesn't matter to me if I either get a full set of 11 media, or an upgrade kit. Can someone point me in the right direction? I've searched the HP web site until i'm blue in the face. I can't tell if I already own a license to the software, if I need to buy it, if I can download an upgrade somewhere, or what.
Thanks a bunch for your help!

Re: License for HP/UX 11
Your local Hp reseller should be able to help you.
Do you get any documentation with your machine?

Re: License for HP/UX 11
it depends a little bit on what type of information you are looking for.
Media ... yes, check with your sales person
Install info .... check for all the nice docs on www.docs.hp.com
does it work? .... yes you can install 11.0 on a c200
known problems ... I'm sure "a million" :-) But it should be working properly.
Check the ITRC forums for some old threads and "learn" from their experience.
Hope that helps a bit,

Re: License for HP/UX 11
Nearly everything has been said but this:
Start a cold (fresh) install of 11.0 instead of trying an update. You'll be rewarded for the extra installation time spent as your system will be a lot more stable thereafter.
If you search this forums, you'll find a zillion evidences of this consensus.
Best regards,
Dan

Re: License for HP/UX 11
I purchased the machine used from a reseller on eBay. The machine came without any documentation of any kind; all I received was the machine with 10.20 installed and the 10.20 media.
I'm guessing now that i'll have to purchase outright a copy of 11.00 media (remember, this is a personal machine, and not for a company); if it is cost-prohibitive, i'll have to stick with 10.20. This is why I was hoping there was a cheap and easy way to simply upgrade to 11.
Thanks again,
