LIF files in custom Ignite CD

Hi, there:
I try to manipulate the LIF files to handle more config files. However, there is very few information about the LIF.
Maybe some one can give me some suggestions.
My plan is :
1. run make_medialif to create a LIF volume.
2. remove "INDEX", "CONFIG" and "SCRIPTS" from the LIF volume.
3. Copy my own INDEX, CONFIG's and SCRIPTS into the LIF volume.

The question is that lifcp will put INDEX and CONFIG in the end of LIF volume. Does the order of the LIF files in the LIF volume matter?

Or should I just crack the make_medialif script to create my own LIF volume.
