lifls is not showing the lif area

I did "lifls /dev/rdsk/cxtxdx" to see the lif area for both of the disk.but it shows nothing...

For other servers it is showing . Is there anyway to copy it without rebooting the server.

Not needed during normal production.

Did you ever used them???


However, they are available from CD on software.hp.com

There is a depot for swinstall on it.

Normally you never need it - if "someone" need it, he usually has this CD.

Additional information - your LIF area has all the needed files:

ISL - initial system loader, for loading ->
HP-UX - secondary loader, loads the kernel
AUTO - auto boot strings (options like "-lq")
LABEL - disk related
PAD - fill the space
