Re: light on one of the HBAs flashing error

ioscan -> of all FC are claimed
fscmsutil -> of Driver status shows ONLINE

everything looks ok. Better to check.

Eventlog & syslog -> under stand why HBA flashing error

# more /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log
# more /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
# dmesg

Johnson

You can "simulate" an event in order to check if the monitoring is working, e,g, if the test event reaches HP SIM or another monitoring software.

This is such a "simulated" event (manually sent).

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: light on one of the HBAs flashing error

Example:

# /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/send_test_event -v -a disk_em

This will simulate a disk related event (this is what you have).

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Solution

Re: light on one of the HBAs flashing error

Again, what is flashing?

The HBA has 3 LEDs for each port, yellow, green and amber.

If all LEDs together flashing 2 times per sec. it is a failure of the HBA.

The yellow LED indicates a 4Gb/s connection.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
