Link down but SNMP message shows no error

Link down but SNMP message shows no error

I have configured 2 LAN cards, one to the SNMP server and one to server B. When the link to server B is down, both the console and system log shows link down, but the SNMP message to the SNMP server shows "No Error". Do I need to configure any other things?

1. See the menu 'SNMP configuration' to confirm the Lan card to the server B has been monitored.
2. In menu 'Event confiugration', add lan card fail event.
3. Configure snmp trap.

I have already made "snmpdm", "mib2agt", "snmp_hpunix" daemons running with correct trap destination configured in "snmpd.conf", but still the HP server can only response to the SNMP server "GET" message but cannot send out traps on link down.
