Linux Box as X-Terminal for HP-UX 11.31 machine

Hallo together

I have the followinng problem:
I have a rx2660 running HP-UX 11.31 Update 3 and I have a pc running openSuse 11.0. I configured the linux pc as a Xterminal:
xorg -query ip-of-rx2660

CDE login screen is displayed. I have the following problems:
- I have a german keyboard but when I enter the user name an US layout is used.
- If I try to enter a numpad key in the password field dtlogin will crash.

I found via google many other people who have the same problem (dtlogin <-> xorg) but nobody published the solution.

I hope I can find some experts on HP-UX and Linux.

On the linux box do you use german keyboard layout ? Did you mean you get a US layout only when using x-terminal ? Do we know that X-terminal you are using is made to support all keyboard layouts ?

I will be curious to know the above.

Can you try to set your language in German from CDE login screen "Option"?

At first I installed Suse Linux out of the box with gnome. I had a full working Linux workstation with german keyboard. I switched to runlevel 3 (no X) and started xorg -query via command line. After CDE is displayed an US keyboard layout is used.

The CDE environment is running on the rx2660 and displayed on the linux workstation. What is the language/keyboard setup on the rx2660? Check if page 21 of this document might help http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5991-5907/5991-5907.pdf
