Is there a simple way to use two LAN cards connected to same HP2524 switch (no VLANs,?just one subnet) with automatic load balancing?
The switch manual says it supports trunking with HP-UX servers, but no hints about what it involves on the HP-UX side.
This is a small private LAN with only about a dozen machines, so I can do it manually (two IPs, static routes in every host), but if there's an automatic way of achieving it, like when trunking is set up between two switches, it would be better.
In case it matters the host is an L1000 running HP-UX 11.00 (soon 11.11).

Solution
Hi, if you are running 11.x then Automatic Port Aggregation (APA) will do this for you. Unfortunately, you have to purchase it. If you do a search on "Port Aggregation", you can find everything you need.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: load balancing with 2 lan cards and 2524 switch
Hi there.
Try to more info about this product :
HP Auto-Port Aggregation for HP 9000 Enterprise Servers is a software-only product that distributes data over multiple 1000Base-SX Gigabit or 100Base-T Fast Ethernet links. Up to four of these links, belonging to a wide variety of HP 100Base-T LAN adapters, can be logically aggregated to form a single logical, high-bandwidth channel for higher availability and failover protection.
product information
overview & features
fewer outages
faster response time
investment protection
simplicity and lower cost of installation and maintenance
