We are working with HP-UX B.11.23 and cifsclient A.02.02. Our unix server is located in our trusted network. The server we are trying to mount (windows 2003) is not located in our trusted network, but in our DMZ (accessible to external users).
We use the following command :
cifslogin -s server01 login -P password
But, we get the following error :
LOC : Connection Lost
Any ideas how to solve this ?
Regards,
Brecht

SolutionThis error just said you have a network problem.
http://www.obdev.at/resources/sharity/manual/A01-appErrors.html
Perhaps, you could put the trace of cifs, look at the CIFS Client A.02.02 Administratorâ s Guide, section Troubleshoot and lets try to cifsTrace. Maybe you could view what made this issue. So port could be open ?
Hope it helps

Re: LOC : Connection Lost, when trying cifslogin
Thanks for the reply.
In the log-file, there was a "connection refused" error.
I guess there is something with our firewall settings.
The settings will be changed tomorrow. I will test again tomorrow and close this thread as soon as the issue is solved !

Re: LOC : Connection Lost, when trying cifslogin
I still couldn't solve my problem. We have changed our Firewall-settings. I can reach the target-server successfully with both ping and telnet, but the cifslogin keeps giving the error : LOC : Connection Lost.
The following lines are shown in the cifsclient log-file :
03-03 14:31:19.392 [0] server: srvConnect server=wilportal01, connectTimeout=0, requestTimeout=0
03-03 14:31:20.617 [16] pslsocket: read error for server wilportal01: [239] Connection refused
03-03 14:31:20.617 [0] server: srvConnect server=wilportal01, connectTimeout=5000, requestTimeout=60000
03-03 14:31:20.618 [16] pslsocket: read error for server wilportal01: [239] Connection refused
03-03 14:31:20.618 [0] server: srvConnect server=wilportal01, connectTimeout=5000, requestTimeout=60000
03-03 14:31:20.618 [16] pslsocket: read error for server wilportal01: [239] Connection refused
Any ideas ?

Brecht

Re: LOC : Connection Lost, when trying cifslogin
I have found the solution.
My problem is solved by setting smbovertcp to "yes" in the file /etc/opt/cifsclient/cifsclient.cfg.
