Re: Locating Space from SAN (va7110)
It is not possible to combine the spac from /lvol1 and /lvol9 as both the logical volumes are on different Volume group.
Can you please post the output of vgdisplay -v /dev/vg01.

Naveej

Re: Locating Space from SAN (va7110)
Can I remove both of them, reducing the vg's and then create new one ?

Re: Locating Space from SAN (va7110)
If you are not using both /vg01/lvol11 and /vg01/lvol2, then you can add c2t1d0 and /dev/dsk/c4t0d1 to VG00 so that you can use the free space available in VG01/lvol9 as well. The disadvantage is that VG00 will not get activated (and system won't boot) if LUNs from VA7110 are not accessible.
1. Unmount filesystems. (corresponding to lvol11 and lvol2)
2. vgexport /dev/vg01
3. pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0
5. vgextend /dev/vg00 /dev/dsk/c2t1d0
6. lvextend -L 150000 -n /dev/vg01/lvol9
7. Umount the filesystem mounted on /vg00/lvol9
8. extendfs -F vxfs /dev/vg01/rlvol9
9. mount the filesystem corresponding to lvol9
With best wishes,
Naveej

Re: Locating Space from SAN (va7110)
Unfortionatley still I need the file system on lvol12.
Whay u advice me to use pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0 and not /dev/dsk/c4t0d1
On lvo12 ihave the following:
#/export>ls
lost+found srt
#/export>cd srt
#/export/srt>ls
hp11i
#/export/srt>
I don't know to remove it or not !!
I'm not sure why the previous system admin is uing it for wahat, may for Bare metal Restore.

Solutiondu -k /export
Can you back it up and then later copy it back.
backup /export
1. Unmount filesystems. (corresponding to lvol11 and lvol2)
2. vgexport /dev/vg01
3. pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0
pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c4t0d1
5. vgextend /dev/vg00 /dev/dsk/c2t1d0
6. lvextend -L 150000 -n /dev/vg01/lvol9
7. Umount the filesystem mounted on /vg00/lvol9
8. extendfs -F vxfs /dev/vg01/rlvol9
9. mount the filesystem corresponding to lvol9
mkdir /dev/vg01
mknod /dev/vg01/group c 64 0x010000
vgcreate vg01 /dev/dsk/c4t0d1
lvcreate -L 2000 -n lvol2 /dev/vg01
newfs -F vxfs /dev/vg01/lvol2
mount /dev/vg01/lv0l2 /export
then restore the backup
