Lock Disk for 2 Fiber Fabrics

Hello!

I have a 2 node cluster for 2 packages (NFS and SAMBA/CIFS). At the moment we have 1 lock disk as we had only one fiber fabric. Now we have 2 fiber fabrics, so should I have 2 lock disks on the 2 fabrics?

Thanks,

Emil

Re: Lock Disk for 2 Fiber Fabrics

2 node cluster only need one lock PV for tie breaker.

By 2 fiver fabrics what u mean you have a new alternate path for the lock disk??

If you talking about alternate path, let us know if you using powerpath or any other multipathing software.

Re: Lock Disk for 2 Fiber Fabrics

There are limited reasons to use an alternate lock disk. Check the Managing Serviceguard manual to see if your situation fits the reasons.

Though Serviceguard requires an LVM VG (if using this configuration) it does not use PVLINKS to identify the designated lock VG/PV.

Re: Lock Disk for 2 Fiber Fabrics

Hi Emil

? Only one cluseter lock disk should be configured unless you have specific high availability configuration.
? The concept ├в dual lockdisk├в is not used for standby purpose.
