Yes, the normal data shared discs can be used as a cluster lock disc, but must be in an LVM VG, not a VxVM DG,

The answer is yes but a Plan B is to configure a Quorum Server. A little PC running Linux makes a handy-dandy QS and QS's are really considered the better approach these days.
