Dear Sirs,
We are working on some performance issue. In our "hp apache" web sever %D extended logging directive has been enabled but i am not sure what it does ?
Our web site gets request from client's web site and they are getting connection timeout errors. They are blaming that it is problem on side.
We are analyzing access logs of hp apache on our side and are failing to find out root cause.
We are debating on this issue. One debating group says that %D logging directive in apache would log RTW and RTA respone time in access log from our end. At our end apache is talking to weblogic 7 which in turn talks to oracle 9i RAC. All are running on hpux 11/11i.
Other debating group says %D paramters logs time from the client environment and also from our environment. Client environment is using hp apache to talk to our hpapache on hpux.
We are not able to make sure which group is right.
I would appreciate if someone can throw light.
Thanks in advance,
Shiv

Solution
have you looked into the 'timeout' value ? what exact time is your timeout value set to ? Are you timing-out on Long Running transactions ? of what type ?
what type of Driver JDBC are you using ? Do this have anything to do with setting timeout values or does it change it's behavior..
my 2-cents

Re: logging by HP Apache on hpux 11
Greetings Shiv,
Is your problem solved?
Have you done a netstat -na and are there any 'FIN_WAIT' states?
Regards,
David.
