logical volume reduce

Hi,

If by mistake i had reduced the logical volume but not apply command vgchange now if i have to recover that logical volume than how could i do that ?

Whether or not vgchange has been run has no bearing on the logical volume. It has been reduced. If you want to recover the logical volume back to it's original size, you need to run lvextend.

Be aware that, if this logical volume contained a file system, the lvreduce command rendered the FS unusable and you will have to recover it from backup.

Question to the experts:
could you use vgcfgrestore using the old config file?

Yes .. assuming there were no other changes made, a vgcfgrestore would bring the size of the lvols back up to the correct size.

If other commands were done such as reducing the filesystem, then there would be problems.
