Login impossible, black screen appears, reset to login screen

Hi all!

My system: HP C3600 on HP-UX 10.20

Whenever I logout of a user (just this user is affected) i have to rm the .dt directory in order to make the login work again. After the next logout, it's impossible to login again. This happens EVERY time!
I can't even failsave login, just by command line login it's possible to perform tasks.
What else can I try?

Are you able to resolve your host properly

#nslookup

Run /usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_dt
and check /var/dt/Xerrors
Please post them.

Everything is now as it should be. I just copied the sys.dtprofile into the users home .dt.

Hmm, sounds like a corrupt user .profile or something like that.
try putting in another users profie files etc, or use defaults.

I guess I was a bit too fast with my reply. It seems that the copying of the general sys.dtprofile worked only temporary. Now I??m back at the start... :-(

So I just ran dr_dt and I??m gonna post the Xerrors-file here.

Hope anyone gets a clue out of that.

Can you also post the output of $HOME/.dt/errorlog.

Thank you Mr Manikandan!

Due to the troubleshooting document I checked the drive size of the specified user. It was at 100%!
So I just deleted unnecessary files and the account works!

whilst logged out of CDE

rm $HOME/.dt

Log back in

go to CDE's Style Manager -> Startup ->

Set Home Session

[x] Return to Home session

exit from CDE and try again.

If the above fails could you comment on the users CDE env .... colourful backdrop ?, unusual shell ?, using any 3rd party applications ?, CDE customisations at all ? please detail.

imho something has wormed it's way into either your current or home session and is causing you problems or something in the users $HOME is hosed .... what .[dot] files exist in their $HOME out of interest
