login problems after S-Plus update

Hi,
after updating my J210 with HP-UX 11i (TCOE) with the Support Plus of March 2003,
i can't login anymore using the /etc/passwd via PAM.
Fortunatly LDAP-UX was installed so loging in with an ldap-user works.Since user root is normaly not in
ldap i created an alias (sysman ) with uid=0 to get root-access.
samba/cifs authentication (share mode) also works, although i have problems with broken pipes there.
It also takes a while before i can login after a reboot.

I first installed the HWEnable11i patch bundle, everything seems ok after that,
but after installing the GOLDQPK11i these problems started.
It looks like something went wrong during the update or the update was not finished off somehow.

Can i solve this by trying to do an update-ux from the march 2003 CD's(core OS) , in the hope all software
will be installed correctly ?

Any other ideas ??
