logname error when logging in

logname error when logging in

when we log into servers randomly we will get the message "logname: could not get the login name" if we open another connection we can login
anyone know whats causing this?

There is one problem, related to old version of SSH (3.0). Try to upgrade your version if this cause your problem.

Also post more details - OS version.

we are running SSH 3.7
on OS B.11.23

Try to enable and logging via telnet. After that disable it.
If there is no error - it's time for SSH upgrade.
