Lost connection to hardware
Hi all
I've just had an issue with a couple of dtc's that are attached to one of our servers via a hub - I spoke to the site who advised that there were no changes going on at the time. All users connected to the dtc lost there sessions with "connection aborted" message
I checked the local router - could see the devices in the arp cache - couldn't ping
Couldn't ping them from the server
Checked lanadmin to see if any errors, all ok
I could log onto the server remotely
Checked the syslog
May 10 10:26:00 ocd[852]: (200) ERROR: Unable to obtain data from networ
k: system error 232: Connection reset by peer
May 10 10:22:12 ocd[846]: (264) ERROR: Unable to read binary negotiatio
from network: system error 232: Connection reset by peer
The 'ocd' onward connection daemon is used for communication to peripherals
I attempted to hard reset the devices and the hub - no joy - Had to reboot the server , which brought everything back ok
Any help appreciated
Steve

Re: Lost connection to hardware
Steve,
We have had problems where we lose connection to the dtc's and looking in netstat -rn we have dynamic routes to the dtc's via the wrong router - normally after a failover from FBS to ISDN. Removing the dynamic routes sorts out our problem.
Don't know if this is of any help.
Hilary

Re: Lost connection to hardware
Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Hmmm ,I should have checked the routing table entries.
