Low on space message

After doing an unsuccessful patch update to db2, I started receiving the following message -
harlie sendmail[1373]: NOQUEUE: low on space (have 1, SMTP-DAEMO
N needs 101 in /var/spool/mqueue)

The system is HP-UX harlie B.11.11 U 9000/800

disc space for /var is
/var (/dev/vg00/lvol8 ): 209184 blocks 63738 i-nodes

Can someone please explain what is going on?

Re: Low on space message

Hmz, can you double check like this:

# cd /var/spool/mqueue
# bdf .

Hello,

> sendmail[1373]: NOQUEUE: low on space

The error message says it all. The /var filesystem is extremely low on disk space. You need to delete some files. For help on determining what is safe to delete, see these threads:

Re: Low on space message

This issue might be related related to a known issue where the sendmail 'df' files are not cleared. I suggest to check for the 'df' files and clear it under /var/spool/mqueue then install the latest sendmail patch as a workaround.
