LP Allow/Deny users access to specific print queues

OK, time for my first question.

Without moving to "cups", and without manually scripting
it in the printer interface scripts... is there a simple
way in HPUX to deny or allow specific users to use specific printers?

(In Solaris, for instance, you have users.deny/users.allow files)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I don't think so - cups would be your best bet....or write your own wrapper script around the lp command....

Hi,
No, there is no such features in the HP-UX print spooler.
The Solaris spooler is different and, there it may be possible to allow/deny users.
Have you tried with remote printing to a Solaris print spooler ?

Unfortunately, we're stuck with using the regular HP spooler,
at least for now. I just thought I'd see if anyone knew
of one of those rare "undocumented" workarounds for this.

If it becomes necessity, and it isn't right now, I'll script it.

Thanks for the responses!
