lp configure program

Hi,

I have one print queue server on w2k and one server is HPUX 11.11. When I configure the remote printer on HPUX server by SAM. It is configure only on BSD filter since I check the file from /var/spool/lp/interface/'printer_name". However, I need to use PCL5 instead of BSD and there is found in /var/spool/lp/modem.

How can I change it and how can I verify it?

Haven't done this myself, but heres a suggestion:

Do you have lpr/lpd installed on your w2k system (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bpj02836#N2040C)?

Try creating a local PCL5 printer (i.e. using SAM), for example w2kprinter.

Then try using the command line lpadmin (man lpadmin) utility to redirect the local printer to a remote printer, i.e.

lpadmin -pw2kprinter -v/dev/null
-mrmodel
-ocmrcmodel
-osmrsmodel
-orm_w2k_system_name_or_ip_address
-orplp -v/dev/null
