LP - HPDPS Printing Problem

A less experienced person was in SAm and started HPDPS. We have only used LP in the past. This is a HP9000 running 11.0.

with any printing command including lpstat we get:
lpstat: HPDPS error (Cannot determine the local IP address.)

Please help. All of my printing is down.
