lp spooler only prints to newly defined queues not to existing ones
I have about 350 printers defined on an HPUX 11.23 rx6600. None of the queues are working. If I delete one and then re-add it it still does not work. But, if I create a new queue with a name not presently defined it works just fine.
This is happening with two of our three nodes in a new 3 node SG cluster. The hppi software was installed on all three nodes. The queues from our old system were tarred up and laid down on node1. I backed up /var/spool/lp /etc/lp and /var/sam/lp and restored them onto nodes 2 and 3. This was working on all three nodes until sometime last week when a developer was testing in our app and tried to print. We cannot identify the change that occurred to create this issue.
I've also run the diagnostics from within hppi and everything checks out ok there as well.
Any ideas would be most appreciated,
Thanks,
-mark

Re: lp spooler only prints to newly defined queues not to existing ones
Resolution: /etc/hosts was chmoded to 600 and not 666. Changed perms on nodes 2 and 3 and print queues began working fine.
