lp to W2K

Hello,

I need your help.
we have change our Print server from HPUX 10 to W2K. We have many UX workstation and HP LaserJet* printer devices.
Now I can printing but I can not set true tray. On UX side my command "lp -d[printer] -oub" (for upper tray) has no effect.
How can I set my UX Workstation to print correct on W2K Server?

Thanks a lot

kind regards,

Ilja Lunev

Re: lp to W2K

It appears that you converted from JetAdmin NETWORK printers to REMOTE printers. Unfortunately, you have much less control over print jobs in this mode of operation. Your best bet is to use the JetAdmin or the replacement (Jetdirect Printer Installer) software. This will give you much greater control over print jobs.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: lp to W2K

Remote printers on non-HP-UX platforms such as Windows lose all the -o options. The problem is that Windows has nothing to interpret the -o options. Since Windows can't be changed to handle SysV spooler scripts, you'll have to add the appropriate escape sequence into the data file you are printing before sending the job to Windows.

If the printers are connected to the network using HP JetDirect LAN cards, you can download the latest JetDirect Printer Installer and replace the remote printers with JetDirect connections, and all your options will now work.
