Hi all:
Found an lpmc message in the syslog file on a K420 running 10.20.
Looking for a way to have those messages mailed to root when they appear.
Have been working with the EMS product but I don't seem to have it right yet.
When I try to add the service with EMS, /system/status/cpu/lpmc, it comes back and says that "no resources of instances /system/status/cpu/lpmc found".
What am I needing to do to have lpmc errors e-mailed?
Am I on the right track?
Many thanks -- Rick

Solution
What I do to check syslog for specific errors is to run a simple scipt via cron that does a grep for any text strings you want to look for. If anything is found, I move the syslog file to a new name with a time/date stamp, E-mail the results to my account, and issue kill -HUP `cat /var/run/syslog.pid` to start a new syslog file.
There is also a program named swatch that will do this for you, available at:

Re: lpmc messages
On my HP-UX 11.0 system there is a lpmc resource already defined in /system/spu, its call /system/cpu/lpmc. I not sure if this is new for 11.0
